Skate With Marly
Class Policy
At Skate with Marly, our classes are designed to help you learn, progress, and have fun in a supportive community.
Because our classes have limited capacity, every registration represents a reserved spot that cannot always be offered to another skater. Our policies help us keep classes fair, organized, and sustainable for everyone.
Please read the applicable policy below before registering.
1. Multi-Week Programs & Commitment-Based Courses
Programs such as Roller Skate 101 (RS101) are structured, progressive programs. Each class builds on the previous one, and spots are limited.
For this reason, RS101 and other commitment-based programs are not offered as drop-in classes. Registration is for the full session.
Registration & Cancellation
We strongly encourage you to make sure you can commit to the session before registering.
If you need to cancel your registration, please contact us as soon as possible. Cancellation rights for multi-week courses are governed by Québec's Consumer Protection Act. Any refund, amount payable, or applicable cancellation charge will be determined in accordance with the law.
As a practical courtesy, we ask that you notify us at least 24 hours before the first class whenever possible. This gives us the best opportunity to offer your spot to another skater.
A 24-hour notice requirement does not limit any cancellation rights provided to you by Québec law.
Missed Classes
Once a session has started, simply missing a class does not automatically entitle you to a refund.
If you know you will miss a class, please let us know in advance whenever possible.
For RS101, because the program is offered in two groups during the same session, you may make up one missed class by attending the other RS101 group, provided:
- The make-up class takes place during the same session;
- There is space available in the other group; and
- The make-up is arranged in advance.
Make-up classes cannot be carried over to another session or exchanged for cash.
Unexpected Medical Circumstances
If an unforeseen medical circumstance prevents you from participating in your session, please contact us as soon as possible.
Where appropriate, we may offer the option of transferring your remaining classes to a future session, subject to availability. This transfer option is offered as an accommodation and does not limit any rights you may have under applicable Québec consumer-protection legislation.
2. Drop-In Classes
Drop-in classes are designed for skaters who want more flexibility and are available for purchase individually or in bundles.
Cancelling a Drop-In
If you can no longer attend a drop-in class, please cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled class.
For cancellations made within our 24-hour cancellation window, or for no-shows, the class payment or applicable class credit will normally be forfeited.
Because our classes have limited capacity, a last-minute cancellation can prevent another skater from taking your spot.
If an exceptional circumstance prevents you from attending, please contact us as soon as possible. We may review exceptional situations on a case-by-case basis.
Class Bundles
Class bundles provide flexibility to attend eligible drop-in classes during their applicable validity period.
Unused credits are subject to the terms communicated at the time of purchase. Purchasing a bundle does not guarantee a spot in a specific class; registration is required for each class and remains subject to availability.
3. Class Transfers & Make-Ups
Class registrations and credits are intended for the person who purchased them and may not be transferred to another person unless Skate with Marly has expressly approved the transfer.
Make-up classes are only available where specifically stated in the program or approved by Skate with Marly.
4. Class Cancellations by Skate with Marly
Occasionally, Skate with Marly may need to cancel or reschedule a class due to circumstances such as instructor availability, venue issues, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances.
If we cancel a class, we will communicate the available options to registered students, which may include a make-up class, rescheduling, or another appropriate solution depending on the circumstances.
5. Please Register Responsibly
Before purchasing a program or class, please make sure you understand:
- The date, time, and location of your class;
- Whether you are purchasing a commitment-based program, individual drop-in, or class bundle;
- The applicable attendance and cancellation policies; and
- Any specific requirements communicated for the class.
By registering, you acknowledge that you have reviewed the applicable class information and policies.
Nothing in these policies is intended to limit or exclude any rights you may have under Québec's Consumer Protection Act or other applicable legislation.
If you have questions about a registration or an unexpected situation, please contact us at skatewithmarly@gmail.com and we'll be happy to help.
